Penny

Penny is an older tortoiseshell female who was rehomed from the Sanctuary several years ago and was thoroughly spoiled. Now sadly her elderly owner is in hospital and Penny has returned. She is a senior housecat (though she likes to go out in the day), very clean, likes to sleep on the bed and loves her food – she will let you know when she’s hungry!

Penny has a medical condition which requires daily treatment but she will repay her new owner with so much affection. A real sweetie!

Sabina

Sabina is a beautiful black and white semi-long-haired 7 year old female whose owner wasn’t able to cope with her and therefore brought her to The Mayhew.

mayhew_sabina.jpg

Sabina is a very friendly feline who loves attention … especially when there is food around. However, this is on her own terms and she can be temperamental at times. Sabrina would need to go to an adult home where her independent nature can be appreciated.

Tuppence

Tuppence is a beautiful tabby and white female who was originally brought to The Mayhew on the understanding that she was feral and would therefore be neutered and returned to her original surroundings.

mayhew_tuppence.jpg

Since her arrival it has become clear that she is not feral, but understandably scared. Despite this, she is slowly settling into her new environment and gaining confidence.

Although Tuppence is nervous when first approached, she responds well in a quiet environment and enjoys being stroked and made a fuss of. She will therefore need a quiet environment where she can get the TLC she needs.

James

James is a handsome 3 year old ginger and white male who was brought to The Mayhew as a stray. He is slowly settling down at The Mayhew but has clearly found the upheaval very stressful.

He is a sweet boy who tends to shy away from visitors, running away from anyone approaching, but he will also cry for attention and enjoys the attention when you are with him. He would need a patient individual to help build his confidence and trust to enable his character to bloom.

Sprite

Sprite is a handsome 10 year old pure black male who came to The Mayhew, along with his sibling, after living the life of a stray for several years. Unfortunately, the person who was feeding them died.

mayhew_sprite.jpg

Sprite was understandably very nervous when he arrived at the home, suffering from cystitis as a result of the stress. He would barely move from his bed because of his lack of confidence and would shy away from any visitors.

Sprite is currently in a foster home and has already shown a huge improvement. Sprite has learnt to relax in human company and is starting to enjoy the affection given to him and especially likes having his tummy stroked. He’s proving to be a very active and playful cat, catching and playing with balls that are thrown to him.

Sprite has made a huge improvement in a home environment and is in desperate need of a patient and loving home where he will receive the TLC he needs to continue to gain confidence.
