Alice

Meet Alice; she is a 12 year old tabby and white speyed female domestic tabby and white cat that was brought to us in early June 2007 as a stray. It always seems particularly sad when we have older cats brought in as strays.

bathcdh_alice.jpg

You wonder how long it has been since they have been in the comfort of a loving home and had a warm lap to curl up on. With Alice, you think she must have had a loving history, as she is such a sweet, good-natured cat, who just loves a cuddle and lots of affection.

Alice arrived very stressed and with very bad ear tumours which have since been removed leaving her with just part of one ear left. However, this gives her a unique and very cute appearance. All she has been through doesn’t seem to have affected her lovely, sweet temperament.

She will probably need to have sun block applied to her ears on sunny days so that they don’t get burnt. She has since settled into cattery life and is a friendly affectionate easy-going cat that is very laid-back. She loves a fuss, and would more than likely love to curl up on your lap to spend her twilight years in a caring home where she can keep you company and able to snooze the afternoons away.

She needs someone that is at home at first to help her settle in and get all the TLC that she certainly deserves. House-trained, good with other cats Alice would be fine in a quiet household where children are sensible aged 10+ or older. Can you give our older lass the love and devotion she deserves?

Sacha and Tiggy

Meet Sacha and Tiggy; they are another example of a pair of cats who should have been snapped up instantly for re-homing but for some reason or other have, unfortunately, been overlooked. This pair of black and white cats arrived in the home due to no fault of their own back in May 2007, and settled into the cattery quickly.  Sacha is the elder of the pair, being a 14 year old neutered male cat; however, this isn’t reflected in his behaviour.  Tiggy on the other hand is a 7 year old spayed female cat.

bathcdh_tiggy.jpg

Sacha is still very active and enjoys spending lots of his time out in his run; is still quite playful and loves his catnip! Sacha loves human attention and is often seen pawing at the glass of his run door, meowing loudly for attention!

When he does get it, he enjoys nothing more than having his head and chin rubbed. It would be lovely for Sacha to find a home where he can be kept entertained with playing, but also be allowed to snuggle up on his new owner’s lap for a good fuss when he feels like it.

bathcdh_sacha.jpg

In the cattery Tiggy has spent a lot of her time hiding underneath a blanket, so not many people have shown interest in her. Yet, Tiggy isn’t a timid cat, she just enjoys snuggling up beneath the covers! Affectionate and loving Tiggy will appear when promised a fuss. She will make a wonderful lap cat, although she is not so keen on being picked up.

Sacha and Tiggy must be homed together and are suitable to be re-homed with other cats, dogs and children 8+ and would make a lovely addition to any household so please consider this older pair.

Buttons

Meet Buttons; he is a 9 year old short-haired neutered male cat that was brought to us in May 2007, after being found abandoned in a flat. Possibly mistreated in his previous home Buttons is not used to being handled and finds the whole cattery environment stressful.

bathcdh_buttons.jpg

Nervous by nature he will run and hide through fear or just freeze in his bed. Seeking an owner who has an understanding of nervous cats and has a lot of patience and time to spend with him and will let him hide if he needs to at first, underneath this timid exterior is a nice natured cat just waiting to share your life.

Litter trained but not having mixed with other felines in the Home he is seeking a quiet, calm household where any children aged 12+. He doesn’t show herself off very well in the cattery, running for cover if the pod is opened but we are sure the more time you spend with him quietly the more he would come out of his shell.

Can you give our nervous lad a new home where he can get all the love and TLC he deserves as he obviously hasn’t had much, if any in his life?

Etienne

Meet Etienne; a beautiful black, 1 year old neutered male domestic short-haired cat that has been with us since May 2007, when he arrived as a stray. Initially, Etienne was extremely timid and practically untouchable, choosing to run and hide whenever approached.

bathcdh_etienne.jpg

He has settled a little better into cattery life now, although he is still a very timid cat who will need someone with a lot of time and patience to bring him around. Yet, we have already seen signs of improvement, as Etienne will now let us stroke him for short periods of time, although he does not seem to really enjoy it at the moment.

Because Etienne is so timid he often hides in his pod or bed where the public can hardly see him which is a shame because he is a beautiful young cat who deserves a second chance. What Etienne really needs is a quiet and calm home environment, preferably with children aged 14+ and with understanding owners who will be willing to take the time and patience to really help Etienne settle and to gain confidence and really come out of himself.

We are confident that if given this opportunity Etienne will finally come around and become a lovely, friendly cat.  Etienne is only young and deserves a chance in life so please don’t overlook him!

Zapper

Meet Zapper; she is a 10 year old short-haired black and white speyed female cat that has been with us since early May 2007, when her elderly owner died.

bathcdh_zapper.jpg

Very timid in temperament Zapper will settle given time and a patient owner that will give her all the TLC she deserves in a nice quiet home. Friendly and affectionate on her terms she appears to enjoy a little fuss when she is feeling confident. Only ever having lived with one elderly gentleman cattery life is so different for poor Zapper but as she becomes more familiar and courageous in her social behaviour she will make a lovely companion.

Often feeling unsure of her situation she doesn’t show herself off well in the cattery being stressed and frightened. As she is middle-aged she likes to sleep a lot, and as she is crossed-eyed possibly cannot see to well and this maybe why she acts unpredictable sometimes.

She would love a new home where people are at home quite a lot as this is what she has been used to and as she is an older feline would be best suited to a quieter home. Litter trained, but not good with her feline cousins she would be fine in a family where any children aged 14+. Can you give our timid lass a new place to call her own again?

Tiddles and Chubbs

Meet Tiddles and Chubbs; a 12 year-old female and 4 year old male respectively, are a pair of beautiful, neutered, black and white moggies, who were brought to Bath Cats and Dogs Home in April 2007, as their owner was moving home and unable to take them with her.

bathcdh_tiddlesandchubbs.jpg

The cute duo did not enjoy the restraints of cattery life initially but have now come round and are very friendly and enjoy their cuddles. They can often be seen curled up together enjoying each other company so therefore need to be homed together. Desperate for attention this lovely pair will reward you with love and affection. On sunny days they can been seen sunbathing in their run enjoying the rays!

Lack of exercise generally on Tiddles part due to age and a shy temperament and subsequent hiding initially, has led her to gain weight. Chubbs on the other hand being long-haired will require regular grooming.

Clean and house-trained, good with other cats, Tiddles and Chubbs are best suited to a quietish home where any children are aged 5+.  Can offer this lovable duo the patient home they so deserve?

Lily

Meet Lily; she is a 7 month old black and white speyed female kitten/cat that was brought to us in December 2006, as part of an abandoned litter of very young kittens. The litter was fostered soon after admission which has benefited Lily enormously.

bathcdh_lily.jpg

Sadly for Lily, she was quite poorly whilst in the foster home and was found to have polyps in her nose and ear. These have been removed surgically and she is so much better, however there is a chance that they might grow again and she would require further surgery.

Because of this she will go out on assisted adoption which means that the Home will pay for her veterinary costs with regards to her condition, but any financial help that her prospective owners could give towards the vet bill would be appreciated. She is a super little kitten/cat very friendly and affectionate with a lovely nature.

She is full of herself, very lively and playful and because of this has the run of the cattery. She is still waiting for that special someone to come along and offer her a caring home where she can get all the tender loving care she deserves. She loves to be fussed and cuddled and after a morning of tearing around is happy to curl up on your lap for a well earned rest!

She would probably enjoy the company of another cat and would be suitable in a family home where any children are aged 5+ as she is so playful and needs lots of stimulation. She is a curious young cheeky kitten/cat desperate for a loving home environment and the chance of a ramble in the garden.

If you are interested please ask as she is in Red Cattery which is not on general public viewing. Can you offer our darling Lily a new loving home she can call her own?

Blossom and Bella

Meet Blossom (black) and Bella (black and white); they are 2 year old speyed female domestic shorthaired cats that have been with us since the end of February 2007; as they had been left behind by their previous owners and were living in a garden with several other cats.

bathcdh_blossom.jpg

Unfortunately, one of the other cats was FIV+ and although Blossom and Bella were tested and cleared, it can often take a while for FIV to become apparent and the pair had to be put on hold for three months, whilst we waited to retest them. Thankfully, Blossom and Bella have been given the all clear and are now ready for re-homing, but for some reason they’ve attracted little interest from the public; which is a shame because they are a lovely pair.

bathcdh_bella.jpg

They are very pretty sweet natured cats with lovely black and white markings. At only two years of age, this pair is still young and active, enjoying playing with one another. It is possible that Bella and Blossom are related in some way, as the bond between them is apparent; they are extremely close and are always ready to curl up together in their pod.

Bella is a little more timid than Blossom initially, but once she gets to know you she really enjoys a good fuss. Because of this she may take a little longer to settle in a home environment, but once she gains confidence she should prove herself to be a lovely, sweet cat. She is especially fond of being stroked under the chin and rolling over on her back! Blossom is a little more confident and immediately comes forward for attention. She loves to be made a fuss of, although is a bit apprehensive about being picked up. However, is getting used to cuddles and is becoming a really loving cat.

Here in the cattery, they both seem to really enjoy sunbathing and stretching out in their run, relaxing and sleeping the day away. They would probably benefit from a laidback environment in which they can be made the centre of attention and get pampered a lot! Litter trained; good with other cats they are seeking a new loving home where any children in the family are aged 8+.

After being here for so long and having to wait so patiently for results, it really is about time that this lovely pair got a new loving home. Can you offer them a new loving home together?

Minty

Meet Minty; he is a 2 year old grey and white neutered male domestic long-haired cat that has been with us since February 2007, as his owners couldn’t cope with him. Handsome Minty is full of character and has a very ‘unique’ personality.

bathcdh_minty.jpg

On arrival his previous owner said Minty was vicious and had no endearing points! He has since been assessed and he has proved to be a bit of a loner sometimes short tempered and a bit on the grumpy side but he is in no way vicious. Minty will allow you to stroke and make a fuss of him for short periods on his terms but he can be a bit unpredictable!

With patient owners that are willing to offer our independent lad lots of TLC and the right environment, Minty would make a great companion. He is litter trained, not good with his feline cousins and is seeking a quiet home with sensible experienced cat owners and where any children are 16+. Can you offer our independent lad a new home where he can chill-out?

Charlie

Meet Charlie; he is a 10 year old short-haired black cat that has been with us since the middle of February 2007, when his owner had to go into hospital. We always find the situation where older cats find themselves at the cattery very sad, and in Charlie’s case not only has he lost his home but he has also lost his companion.

bathcdh_charlie.jpg

Friendly affectionate Charlie is a nice natured cat who has a great character. He loves a fuss and a cuddle but will let you know when he has had enough and is looking for someone to give him lots of TLC and not put off by his sometimes short temper!

Out-going and inquisitive Charlie is a happy cat that has settled into cattery life very well. However, he is constantly over-looked time and time again, even with that sad little face! He is an easy-going lad that is on medication for hypo-thyroidism so therefore will go out on assisted adoption which means that the Home will pay for any veterinary treatment with regards to his current condition.

Litter trained, Charlie hasn’t mixed with other cats here at the cattery but is looking for a new quiet calm household where any children in the family are 8+. Can you give our older lad a new home to call his own again?
