Greta is a 6 year old black female who had been kept as an indoor cat and was given to us when a new baby arrived. She was rather stressed when she came to us but she has learned to relax in her new surroundings, helped as always by the ever-present pigeons outside her pen, who seem to be of great therapeutic value to so many of our needier cats.

Greta would greatly benefit from being introduced to a garden in her new home and her new people should be aware that she will quite likely make an enthusiastic hunter. She needs experienced, mature, adult owners who will understand that she will take time to settle, although she would be quite happy to be left to doodle about while her people are out at work.

If you think that you can give Greta the space and stability that will make her happy, please contact us today or apply online.

Santa is a white and tabby male aged between 7-10 years, he is a quiet, serious boy who very much enjoys being in the company of similar adults. He loves being groomed and stroked and he will go all unnecessary at the faintest whiff of catnip.

He likes stability and security in his home environment and can be upset by new people, so we are looking for a settled home environment for him where no major lifestyle changes are anticipated.

Tests have shown that Santa is FIV positive, which means that we are looking for a suitable indoor home for him. As he previously had his own garden plus all the neighbours’ to patrol, he is going to need plenty of space and also a secure roof terrace or courtyard.

Ideally, his people should not be out for a very long working day as he is still relatively young and active. If you can offer Santa a home, please contact us today or apply online.

To rehome a dog or cat please telephone 020 7627 9234 or e-Mail rehoming@dogshome.org Monday to Friday, 1pm to 4pm Weekends and some Bank Holidays, 10.30am to 4pm Interviews to rehome a dog or cat are on a first come, first served basis but can also be booked on an appointment basis for an interview from 09:00-12:00 Monday to Friday (subject to availability). Visit our Website

See more @: Cat Adoption & Cats Rescue

Tinker and Rascal are two 14 year old tabby cats (male and female) who are in their golden years, and they are looking for a new home where they can continue to do what they have always done: play in the garden, eat nice things, sit on their people’s laps and snuggle up with each other for as many cat naps as they can manage.

They settled in at Battersea straight away and we would expect them to fit in again just as quickly in their new home. They have both had a visit to the dentist and come out minus a few teeth, but the remaining ones are pearly white and their breath smells lovely!

Tinker and Rascal will enhance your life without disrupting it; they will fit in with your lifestyle and will be a pair of welcoming furry faces at the door when you come home from work. If you can offer Tinker and Rascal a loving retirement home, please contact us today.

Little Guy is a 7 year old black male, with his funny fangs and his cute white twinkle toes, he is a cat who prefers the company of adults. He became distressed in his previous home when the kids started coming along, and his people reluctantly decided that he might be happier elsewhere.

We have found him to be a playful and affectionate fellow, quite adventurous and reasonably tolerant of the other cats in the cattery, although he is not particularly keen to interact with them. He likes to lick people’s hands and is a good lap cat – he does very much enjoy human company. Little Guy needs a home without children now or in the future and he will need access to a garden once settled. He’ll make a loving companion and a happy cat to have around in the right home.

If you think that you would like a Little Guy in your life, please contact us today.

Toffee is a 6 year old tortoiseshell female who likes a quiet life. Her dream afternoon would be to curl up on the sofa with her person and watch a classic Hollywood weepie (Bette Davis is her favourite) preferably one that has ad breaks so that she could benefit from any nibbles that might come out of the fridge in those precious four minutes.

However, these indulgences can and do take their toll on the figure and our Toffee could do with fewer sofa snacks and more playing in the garden and running up and down stairs.

This is Toffee’s second stay in Battersea; she originally came to us in 2002 because her owner had had a baby, and is now back because of allergies. We would hope that her next home will be for keeps.

Toffee is looking for a calm, mature, adult home with one or two people who will be strong and unyielding when it comes to treats. She can be a touch temperamental at times, so she needs to live with people who know when their cat has had enough attention and will leave herbe at those times. She should have access to a garden once settled and preferably to some stairs to help her lose weight. She should be the only pet in her new home.

If you think that you can offer Toffee a permanent home, please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443, apply online or email bow.rehomers@dogshome.org.

(Saffy, pictured above)

They are both ready for rehoming and are looking for new owners with Bengal or Oriental breed experience only. They are looking for a new home in a rural environemnt- with a very low cat population and a household with no dogs. They can live with older, experienced teenagers.

They are ideally looking for a room for them to settle into, with chill out places away from each other, if they need them and access to their own private garden.

She will do well in a home with no other cats or dogs. Settles well when given her own space so may be better if given her own room at 1st to help her settle.

Ziggy is looking for an experienced new home in a semi-rural environment (low cat population area). She would prefer an active home, but quiet household with a single or multi-carer household.

She could be left during the working day and can live with children 13 years + that will encourage toy play (not finger play). New owners will also need to remember that as a white cat, she will need sunblock on ears in the summer.

If you can offer Ziggy a home please contact Battersea Dogs and Cats Home Brands Hatch on 01474 875103 and ask of a member of the Cattery staff.

Egg and Nellie are two black and white 2 year old siblings who were brought to Battersea as their elderly owner went in to hospital leaving the cats with nobody to care for them, we do not have much history on them as a friend brought the cats in to us.

Sadly Egg and Nellie are nervous and under-socialised, they are finding cattery life very frightening and confusing taking time to settle and trust people. Slowly with patience they are both coming out of their shells and proving to be sweet cats.

Ideally we are looking for experienced rescue cat owners or people that have owned nervous cats before so will understand exactly what they are going home with. Unfortunately Egg and Nellie cannot live with children or other pets, they need a quiet environment where they will receive the time and attention they need.

Egg and Nellie are used to having access to a garden but due to their nervous natures they did not stay outside for long. It is advisable that they stay indoors longer than your average new cat to allow them plenty of time to settle and bond before going outdoors, new owners must be prepared for this.

If you are looking for a rewarding challenge then this beautiful duo could be for you, to find out more please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443, apply online or email bow.rehomers@dogshome.org.

He is a friendly and sociable, older boy, who came into the home as a gift, due to his owners travelling. He is outgoing and friendly, he only prefers adult company, and is happy to be fussed and groomed, at his age if he has too much attention he may tell you off, but his behaviour has been fantastic whilst he has been here with us.

Lucy is a 10 year old tabby female who first came to Battersea in 2001 as a stray, she was quickly rehomed but has sadly been returned as her owner has moved to a property where no pets are allowed. Lucy is used to living with an elderly single owner in a quiet home so is finding cattery life very stressful and worrying.

In her previous home Lucy was not social or friendly with visitors and only interacted well with her owner so you will not see her true nature while at Battersea or initially in a new home. Lucy is looking for a quiet home with no children or other pets, she needs routine and space when needed.

Lucy will need patience and understanding as she will take time to trust new people and bond, owners must not expect too much too soon from her, she is very much her own boss and prefers interaction on her terms. In her previous home Lucy used a catflap and didn’t spend much time away from the house.

Jackson is a 2-3 year old black and white male. We thought Jackson might like to pal up with his neighbour, Humphrey seeing as they have been taking it in turns to use their shared yard for the past few weeks, but after a few promising sniffs, they had a proper Boy Fight, so that was the end of that idea.

Jackson is FIV positive and will need to go to an indoor home, but as he is a young cat in the prime of life, we would particularly like him to have as much space as possible. Brought in as a stray, he is used to being outside, so a roof terrace or enclosed courtyard would be ideal for him.

Another option would be for him to have the run of a house that is too close for comfort to a dangerous road. He is a young cat, so a couple of teenage children in the home to help keep him entertained would be a good idea.

Ivan is a 1-2 year old black and white male, he may not be the luckiest cat in the world, having already suffered a series of mishaps in his short life, but he is certainly one of the loveliest. He is a sweet-natured, gentle boy who understandably has a slightly wary edge and he gets anxious when there is a lot of noise and movement around him.

Once he is confident with his new people he will make a charming and amusing companion. Ivan needs to live in a fairly calm, slow-moving kind of home, although he could live with one or two children aged 10 years +. He must have access to a secure garden once settled.

Tipsy is a ginger and white 3 year old male. One-eyed cats….they are like London buses round here at the moment. Tipsy lost his left eye just a couple of weeks before he was brought in to Battersea, so the combination of a strange environment and having to get used to his visual impairment has left him feeling a little bit wary and strange.

He just likes to sit quietly on his shelf and think his thoughts. He is a good-natured boy who is an adventurer when he’s out and about and a purry lap cat when he is in the house. He is also particularly susceptible to a good sniff of catnip.

Tipsy can live with children aged 10 years old + and must have access to a garden once he is settled. He should be the only cat in his new household.

Petal is a 1-2 year old tabby and white female in need of a stable and secure home, as she has had a most unsettling time during the last couple of months. She is not too happy in her pen at the moment, but in her last home, she was a happy and sociable little lap cat, even though her owner only had her for a month.

Petal should live in an experienced, mature, home with people who are not anticipating any major lifestyle changes. She can get somewhat stressed and anxious at times, so would not be suitable to live with children either now or in the future. She would be quite happy to be left for a working day as long as she has garden access once settled.

Pegasus has the following rehoming requirements, he needs experienced owners of Oriental breeds. He must live with people who enjoy having an extremely vocal cat.

Neighbours may have to be considered; therefore he should live in a house rather than a flat. Having stairs would also be beneficial for his weight loss programme.

He must live out of London or go to people with a very secure garden and should not be left for a working day; he is very sociable and likes being with people. He can live with children aged 8 years old +.
