Pierrot

Pierrot is a black and white male aged between 1-2 years old, he is another of our very shy boys who just needs a quiet home with experienced and patient people to help him overcome his fears.

battersea_pierrot_web.jpg

As with most shy cats, the secret is not to push him into being friends, but to be able to spend time with him and to allow him to decide when he is ready to come out of himself.

Pierrot needs a quiet, adult home (one teenage child could be considered), with access to his own garden once settled. He would probably be best being the only cat in his new home.

He is very playful and really enjoys being made a gentle fuss of, although still wary of sudden movements. Pierrot will never be the bravest cat in the world, but his sweet nature more than compensates for his timidity.

If you think you have the patience and experience to help Pierrot, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org.

Maisy

Maisy is a 12 year old black female, petite Maisy was originally rehomed from Battersea in 2003, but due to a change in her people’s circumstances she found herself (reluctantly) back here for a second visit.

battersea_maisy.jpg

As she has been here since March, we have decided to give her a break from her pen and she is now happily skipping about in one of our socialising rooms. No spring chicken perhaps, but this girl has kept herself in great shape over the years and remains healthy, active and playful.

Maisy needs to live with a single, mature adult with a settled, peaceful lifestyle where she can have a little garden or roof terrace to sun herself. This determined little character expects her people to be respectful: she’ll give you a smack if you overstep the mark but all will be soon forgiven and forgotten.

If you think you can offer Maisy a home, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org.

Tia

Tia is a 7 year old black and white female. There is no use pussyfooting around this issue: Tia is a very fat cat indeed. Weighing in at a mighty 10.88 kilos on arrival five weeks ago, she is on a strict diet and she has lost a little bit of weight so far, although what she really needs is a home with stairs that she can thunder up and down because as we all know, weight loss programmes only work if you exercise as well!

battersea_tia.jpg

She is a sweet, gentle-natured, purry and affectionate girl who found it difficult to cope with the arrival of a new baby in her previous home. Therefore, she should ideally go to a home where there is no likelihood of new arrivals in the foreseeable future, but would be fine to live with teenagers.

Tia needs to be with people who are committed to her welfare and who will be strong-minded enough to keep her on her diet and to play with her. She will also require daily grooming as she is unable to do it for herself at the moment.

If you think that you could help this plumptious puss to find her waistline again, please come in to Battersea to register, or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org. Prospective owners will need to speak to a Battersea vet prior to rehoming.

Yo Yo

Yo Yo is a black and white female aged 1-2 years old, plumptious Yo Yo was found cowering in the bushes in someone’s garden. Judging by her plentiful padding, she had not been a stray for long, but the experience had clearly unnerved her and she remains somewhat wary and distrustful.

battersea_yoyo.jpg

Thanks to the patience and dedication of our volunteer cat socialisers, she has greatly improved and she certainly wants to be friendly, but what she needs now is a calm, patient, adult home where she can learn to relax and enjoy being a pet. It will come as no surprise to learn that she loves her food and this will be useful for bonding with her during the settling in period in her new home, although she must not be allowed to get any bigger!

Her new people should encourage her to play and she should have access to a garden once settled. If you are interested in Yo Yo, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org.

Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry are two 8 year old ginger males. They are a little bit camera shy and have so far resisted all attempts to portray them as the cheerful chunky chaps that they truly are. These rotund redheads love, in no particular order, eating, sunshine and being stroked.

battersea_tomandjerry.jpg

They are used to living in a fairly quiet adult household with access to a garden and we would be looking for a similar type of home for them although they could perhaps live with a single child aged 10 years old and over as long as they have had cats before.

If you are interested in Tom and Jerry or any of the other pairs of cats waiting for new homes here in Battersea, but not featured on the web, please come in to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org.

Joel

Joel is a black and white male cat aged 3-5 years old. Joel was abandoned at the gates of the Home by his owners; he was scared and bewildered by his sudden, unwelcome change of circumstances, but he did his best to cope.

battersea_joel.jpg

However, he was not really happy in his pen, so we gave him a room of his own where we discovered that the thing he was missing most from his former life was his duvet! Every day is a duvet day for our Joel - no old-fashioned blankets for this particular sophisticat.

This gentle, shy boy is quietly friendly and appreciates company, but he does not like to be over-fussed for too long. He would be quite happy doing his own thing in the garden or hanging out with his duvet while his people are out at work and he could live with teenage children, as long as they respect that he is a cat who likes his space.

If you would like to meet Joel or any of the many other cats all looking for homes, but who are not featured on the web, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org.

Dre and Korky

Dre and Korky are two 7 year old males (one is tabby, the other tabby and white). These relaxed, chilled brothers have lived most of their lives with a variety of dogs who they seemed to co-exist with quite happily.

battersea_dreandkorky.jpg

Unfortunately, due to their owner’s ill health and the arrival of a new baby, they have found themselves here in Battersea looking for a new home. The boys are cheerful, cuddly fellows who love their catnip moments and will be more than happy to be stroked and fussed over for as long as you have the time.

They could probably live with a well-behaved dog and well-behaved children over 12 years old and they must have access to a garden once settled. Prospective owners will need to speak to a Battersea vet prior to rehoming.

If you are interested in Dre and Korky, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9279 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org.

Frank

Frank is a male white and auburn Turkish Van cross, he is aged 10 years +. He is a fantastic old boy, he is completely independent, grumpy, beats up any cat that crosses his path, hisses at any human that annoys him, terrifies the vet nurses when they have to give him his eye treatment, but there’s just something about him that lures you in.

battersea_frank.jpg

Perhaps he will mellow and melt when he goes to live in his own home, perhaps he won’t. Maybe this boy is not for taming or maybe he is secretly rather anxious about being here and the huffing and puffing is just a macho display. Frank needs to live in an experienced, adult only home where he can have some sort of outside access, even if it is just a secure balcony.

He must be the only cat in the household and he would not take kindly to living with a dog either. Prospective owners will need to speak to a Battersea vet prior to rehoming and should be financially secure.

If you have been looking for a Frank in your life, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org

Bagyra

Bagyra is a 1 year old black female. Having let a sheltered life up until the day she came into Battersea, was understandably frightened by her change of circumstances and was a bit of a handful to start off with.

battersea_bagyra.jpg

She has calmed down considerably since then and is becoming increasingly affectionate, but she is still somewhat wary and will need an experienced, adult home where she can learn to relax. Her new owners must appreciate that she may be quite defensive to start off with and that she should be given a quiet room of her own where she can relax and settle in at her own pace.

Bagyra will need a garden or secure roof terrace of her own and must be the only cat in her new household as she does not seem to appreciate the charms of her fellow felines. This young cat just needs a good second start in life and if you think you can give it to her, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org

Del Boy

Del Boy is a 7 year old male tabby Manx. We get quite a few cats without tails, but a true Manx cat is something of a rarity. He is a charming chap who loves to interact with his people and who gets all giggly when he gets a whiff of catnip.

battersea_delboy1.jpg

Manxes are usually good climbers, so Del would be thrilled to have a home with trees in his garden and it may be an idea to remove your breakables before letting him have the run of the sitting room.

battersea_delboy2.jpg

Debonair Del could live with kids aged 10 years and above and must have access to a garden once settled. Apparently he is a good hunter, but thoughtfully leaves his presents on the back doorstep rather than bringing them indoors.

If you think Del is the boy for you, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: r.davies@dogshome.org
