Roxy is a 3 year old female tabby cat. She came into RSPCA along with her 6 week old male kitten Billy after being signed over to an inspector by a member of the public who had more cats than he could cope with. Roxy and Billy are both beautiful cats and are very friendly and affectionate. Roxy has been flea treated, wormed, micro-chipped, neutered and started on her vaccinations. Billy has been flea treated and wormed.
He will be vaccianted and micro-chipped once old enough and a neutering voucher to cover the full cost will be provided to his new owner. We would love to re-home Roxy and Billy together however we will also take enquiries for them seperately.

Midnight is a pure black 3 year old female. She came into RSPCA care on 24/09/09 and is currently fostered in Macclesfield, Cheshire. Midnight came into RSPCA care after being handed over to an inspector. Her previous owner was not fully able to take care of her and so they agreed to let us find her a new home. Midnight has been flea treated, wormed, neutered and micro-chipped. She will begin her vacciantions shortly. Midnight is an adorable little cat, she was very friendly from the minute she arrived with us. She is very playful and very gentle. I am sure the first people to visit her will fall in love and she make a wonderful addition to any home.

Cleo is 2 years old female Tabby and White cat who came into RSPCA care after being handed into a local vets suffering from conjuntivitus and an ear infection. Every effort has been made to trace her owners with no luck and so she is now looking for a new home.

She has had treatment for her infection and they have now cleared up, although her ears still look a little yellow from the drops. Cleo is a lovely affectioante cat who is estimated to be 2 years old. She is currently fostered in Macclesfield.

*Update from foster family*

She has a very sweet temperament-she is on ear drops temporarily and always forgives me straight away for putting them in. All she wants is lots of love, fussing and food! She follows me around the house and sits on my knee whenever I sit down and instantly starts purring. Shes also very playful and also enjoys having a nosy out of the window to see what’s going on outside. She loves meeting new people and getting more fuss. She is just everything you could wish for from a new pet and it’s a great feeling when you come home and she is right up to you, telling you off for going out!

Whiskers is a 1 year old male Black cat who came into RSPCA after being brought into a vet as a stray. He has been neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and started on his vacciantions. He is currently fostered in Buxton.

*Update from foster family*

As you will see Whiskars is a great good looking chap. He just loves attention and will greet you very happily whenever he sees you, purring rather loudly and bouncing around the room of happiness,
or putting his paws on you. He likes being cuddled and stroked, especially on his tummy, and he will stretch himself so you can pet him even better. In return, he is likely to lick you at times and give you plenty of love back. Once he gets to know you, he is more than happy to sit on your lap.

He likes being with people and being the centre of attention. Whiskers is very easy and friendly with people, but is – as is to be expected – a bit shy at the beginning and will hide away when there is too much noise or too many strangers in the house. In spite of that, he is quietly confident, very curious and wants to know what is behind every door and get to know all people, so after a little while he will pop out again and make friends.

He tolerates our own cats, but doesn’t seem to be too keen on their presence. Furthermore, he does not mind being picked up, but not for prolonged periods of time and doesn’t really like being carried around. As a result, it is probably best if he would go to a quiet home with no dominant pets and gentle or slightly older children.

For further details please contact RSPCA Macclesfield (South East Cheshire & Buxton) by telephone 01625 669620 or by e-Mail felines@rspca-macclesfield.org.uk Visit our Website

See more @: Cat Adoption & Cats Rescue

Daisy is a 3 year old female Tabby and White cat who came into RSPCA care along with 3 other cats. Their previous owner was an alcoholic and when she was evicted from her home she left the cats behind. Daisy is quite confident and enjoys being stroked. She is quite vocal and like to ‘talk’ to you. Daisy has been flea treated, wormed, neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

She is currently fostered in Congleton. She is quite keen to explore the outside world although this is not permitted in foster care so she would benefit from a home where she can be allowed outdoors. Daisy is a playful little thing and very friendly. She would make a wonderful lap cat as she enjoys nothing more then curling up on her fosterer’s knee and falling asleep. Daisy is currently fostered with Poppy but they do not seem overly close and so they are fine to be re-homed seperately. As she has lived in a multi-cat household previously she will be fine being re-homed with existing cats.

*Update from foster family*

Daisy is coming on well at her foster home and is now starting to relax. She is happy for her fosterer to pick her up and stroke her but she is not an overly cuddly cat. Daisy can be a little timid and is quite scared of strangers so any adopter would have to be prepared to give her the time she needs to settle in and be comfortable. Daisy enjoys being groomed and will happily let you brush her for hours. Daisy is a little wary of the fosterers grandchildren and so would be best re-homed with older, quieter children.

Ralph is a 3 year old male Black and White cat who came into RSPCA care after being involved in a road accident that dislocated his hip. Due to this injury he needs to have several weeks cage rest
before being allowed to free roam. He has been flea treated, wormed, neutered, micro-chipped and started on vaccinations.

He is currently fostered in Hartford.

*Update from foster family*

Ralph is cute male cat and is aprox 3 years old He was a little shy when he arrived but with the help of a treat came out just a few minuets later. The vet thought Ralph had been involved in a road traffic accident as he had a dislocated hip when he came in, He is now recovering well and loves being stroked although is a little tender in places. He is starting to exercise now as he has been in cage rest for about 2 weeks but is doing very well.
He is a real friendly cat and gets on well with our 4 year old son , He does not seem keen on other cats or dogs and hisses at our 2 cats (and himself in the mirror) so may take time to come round to other animals.

He really is a lovely cat with beautiful markings a really cute face, With time he will make a very affectionate pet, He is eating well and used the litter tray from day one.

Pixie is approx 6 years old and came into RSPCA as a stray who was found underweight and not in a very good condition. After being taken into the vets it was discovered that she had a mouth infection and was full of worms.

She was immediately treated for the worms and this appears to have completely cleared up. She is due for a dental this week and may need some teeth removing so please look for an update.

Due to the condition of her teeth it is difficult to give an exact age but the vet estimates her to be a young adult.

Pixie is described as being a friendly cat. Pixie is currently fostered in Congleton.

*Update from foster family*

Pixie is a lovely cat who enjoys being handled and stroked. She likes being brushed and combed and purrs all the time. She is a quiet cat and needs time to get used to new surroundings
but she wasn’t afraid of me at all. She likes to sleep on top of the sofa next to me or on the window sill when I am away. She eats well, but only small amounts. Pixie uses the litter tray without fuss.

Sweep is a 3 year old black domestic short-haired male who came into RSPCA care on 06/02/09 and is currently being fostered in Buxton. He came into RSPCA care with 3 other cats after his owner
became very ill and had to go into a hospice.

Sweep has been neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and started on his vaccinations.
Most of his teeth have been removed previously but his gums are now healthy and this does not cause him any problems.

Sweep is a lovely young boy who would settle well into most household’s with ease.

Here is what his fosterer had to say about him: Sweep is a black cat with a dense silky coat and yellow eyes.

He is a very friendly and confident cat who is happy being cuddled and will readily sit on your knee.

He is lively and playful and loves chasing around the house. He eats well, loves all food, uses the litter tray without problems and is easy to care for.

He would settle well with other cats unless they were nervous, in which case Sweep may be a little dominating because of his confidence and energy. He has not had any contact yet with dogs and young children but I feel he would settle into almost any household – he settled in with us right away, making himself at home and taking his first afternoon nap on the bed in the main bedroom.

It is believed they may have emigrated leaving poor Lucy behind and she is now looking for her new home. Lucy has been neutered, micro-chipped, flea and worm treated and started on her vaccinations.

Lucy is a beautiful snow white cat and has stunning green/yellow eyes.

Here is what her fosterer had to say: Lucy has settled in well to her foster home. She is a very friendly and vocal cat who doesn’t mind being picked up and loves to be stroked. She loves lying in the sun and getting the “Z”s in. She uses her litter tray well. Lucy does not get along with other cats and so needs to be re-homed as an only cat

Tom is a 2 year old black and white male who was brought into RSPCA care with Henry after his owner sadly passed away. He has been flea treated, wormed, neutered, micro-chipped and started on his vaccinations.

This is what his fosterer had to say:

Tom has settled in well since he came to me on 5th Feb and enjoys his food and his sleep, like any normal cat he seeks out the warmest place to sleep next to the radiator in my kitchen is his favourite spot. He enjoys playing and adores to be brushed and combed. He does fuss around your legs when it is food time and generally likes a fuss on his terms. He is still gaining his confidence in coming into the family living room in the evenings to join us but I am sure he will come out of his shell more as he gets used to us. He does get jumpy when there are sudden loud noises in or outside the house.
Tom is a lovely cat with a calm temperament and has a quiet meow sometimes you can hardly hear him. He would suit a quiet household with someone who can give him lots of attention and fuss when he needs it. I think he will make a lovely pet for some lucky person

Henry who used to live with Tom previously has now been re-homed and although Tom is missing him he is also becoming more confident now he is alone as Henry was quite dominating. He is much more affectionate now and often sits on his fosterer’s knee for a cuddle. I am sure that Tom will continue coming out of his shell and will make a wonderful loving pet

Update 24/2/09,

Tom has come out of his shell more now and is getting more confident about being fussed, he voluntarily comes into the living room in the evenings now and gets on your knee he loves to have a fuss and enjoys being brushed and combed too. He is quite playful and chases around the house with the cat toys I have. He is a lovely gentle boy who enjoys his food and loves his sleep too. He has been putting weight on steadily since being with me as he was underweight when he came in to the RSPCA care but he seems to be ok now.
The vet said he is doing well and is a good size for his age I personally think he would suit a quiet home with older children and someone who has the time to give him the fuss and attention he craves.
He will give you love back in bucketfuls he truly is a lovely cat and deserves a loving new permanent home. “

Queen is a 6 year old black and white female who came into RSPCA care with 3 other cats after her owner became very ill and had to go into a hospice.

Queen has been neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and started on her vaccinations. Queen is quite overweight and so is currently on diet food hoping to get her fit again. She also has an eye infection at the moment that is being treated. She is a lovely cat that would make a great companion.

Here is what her fosterer had to say about her:

Queen is a big girl. Her name really suits her and she is definately in charge! She is a very chilled-out cat and has settled in to her foster home really quickly. She loves to be cuddled and loves a fuss but is also happy to be left alone. She doesn’t mind being picked up either, but you do need some strength.

I have been brushing her because she struggles with grooming all of her fur. The vet clipped some knots out of her fur so she has a little shaved spot on her back which will grow back. Her coat is very soft when it is brushed. I have been testing Queen with samples of diet food recommended by the vet and she eats this happily. Her appetite is not as big as I expected and she often leaves half a bowl and returns for it later. Queen has a very quiet meow, like a ‘chirp’, when she wants to sit with you or when she asks for food, it’s really appealing.

She uses the litter tray with no problems. She gets on with the other cat she is fostered with, she just ignores him. I think she would be just as happy to be alone.

Harvey is an 8 year old black male who came into RSPCA care with 3 more cats after their owner sadly became very ill and had to go into a hospice.

This cat did not belong to the owner but was a local stray that he had been feeding for several months and so we decided to bring it in along with the rest.

Harvey is a beautiful cat and has a sleek black coat with amazing green eyes. Harvey has been neutered, micro-chipped, flea treated, wormed and started on his vaccinations. He has also had a full health check and the vet confirms he is ‘fit as a fiddle’. He is being fostered in Buxton with Nelson but they are happy to be re-homed separately.

Here is what his fosterer had to say:

‘He’s an absolutely gorgeous, lovely cat. As soon as he came to my house he was all over me after a fuss. He’s really affectionate, always after attention! He rubs his face against yours, he just can’t get enough – so sweet! He’s obviously an outdoorsy cat as he sometimes sits on the mat next to the front door wanting to go out. He’s also very playful. I was surprised that he was 8 as he acts like a much younger cat.

Harvey needs to re-homed as an only cat into a home with no existing cats

Nelson is a 8 year old black and white male who came into RSPCA care with 3 more cats after their owner sadly became very ill and had to go into a hospice.

Nelson has been neutered, micro-chipped, flea treated, wormed and started on vaccinations. Nelson came in with an enlarged thyroid but blood tests show all is normal. He is being fostered in Buxton with Harvey but they are happy to be re-homed separately. Nelson has one eye as his name suggests. He is black and white, each leg being white with a black patch. Nelson has been fully vet checked and given a clean bill of health although he will have some dental work in the near future.

Here is what his fosterer had to say:

Harvey and Nelson both settled in and made themselves at home right away. They are very friendly and like being handled, held and cuddled and will readily sit on your knee. They have obviously been lavished with affection by their previous owner because this is what they expect as soon as you appear.

They are not fussy eaters and are using the litter tray without problems. They previously have lived in a multi cat household but Harvey has only been part of this household for a few months. Therefore Nelson and Harvey do not seem especially attached to each other, although there is no tension either, so I think they could be rehomed together or separately. They would settle in well to most households and be very loving cats for their new owner.

Sid is a Ginger long haired cat who is approx 5 years old.

( here is what Sid’s Fosterer has to say about him 13th Jan )

In the 4 – 5 weeks or so that i have had Sid, his confidence in me has changed dramatically. The first day he arrived, he was petrified, and hence growled and hissed etc -he is not an aggressive cat, i just dont think he has ever been touched by a human. The first week or so, all he wanted to do was hide away – but now he prowls around my house like he has always lived here!! He is still unsure of strangers, but will only give them a little warning hiss and back away. He still doesnt like sudden movement but again he just goes to his safe place (in my case, this is in his bed in the kitchen).

The first couple of weeks, i couldnt go anywhere near him without him trying to scratch me or growl, spit and hiss at me. These actions are to be expected when he goes to his new home initially, but the change in him, in such a short space of time, will be extremely rewarding for his new owners. All Sid needs to know is that you arnt going to hurt him, and patience and love will go a long long way with this lovely adorable cuddly cat!

He absolutely loves his food, and i have never known a cat with such a sensitive nose!! Again, initially, if we were eating our tea, he would try to claw the food from me (no doubt due to the fact that he had to fight food his food in his old house bless him). He no longer does this. He uses his litter tray perfectly, but he doesnt use the scratching post so if im leaving him for any amount of time, i coax him into the kitchen.

I am slowly getting him used to going in and out of the cat carrier for any future vet visits etc, by leaving treats in there for him. At first he would get the treat and run out immediately, now he happily will take his time as he is aware that its no longer a danger. Hopefully this will take the stress away from him as, im sure you can imagine, he does not like being picked up yet or being in a confined space. Again, purely because he is not used to it and panics.

In the day, he just tends to doze and have a little wander around. At night, he and Nellie run around for a good half an hour playing -and its so lovely to watch. He likes his toys, the ones on the end of string are his favourite, but after a while he loves to take a back seat and watch Nellie play for ages!!
He has now claimed my bean bag in my front room and sits on it watching the world go by like its his throne! He also has now started to sit in the study with me whilst im on the computer!!

I had a massive break through the other day, as i am now able to stroke him, albeit it for only a few seconds, without him backing away. I think because Sid has watched me stroke Nellie, this has instilled confidence in him. I have never felt such a sense of pride for a long time!!!

Re-homing a cat is such a rewarding experience anyway, but to re-home a cat that has been so totally unused to being loved, being fed regularly, touched, etc is something that no amount of money can buy,
and i have no doubt whatsoever that whichever lucky family gets Sid, they will be rewarded everyday watching him become more and more confident in you.

She’s interested in everything and is very nosy. She enjoys watching the TV (I’m not sure if she has seen one before as she is so fascinated by it!) or the world go by out of the window and always wants to come & see what I’m doing and if there’s a game she can make out of it. Not being able to see out of one of her eyes doesn’t bother her in the slightest. She loves Sid to bits and fusses him constantly; he is like her big fluffy teddy bear! I’m sure she would make someone a lovely, fun-filled pet
