Tortoiseshell

Penny

Penny is an older tortoiseshell female who was rehomed from the Sanctuary several years ago and was thoroughly spoiled. Now sadly her elderly owner is in hospital and Penny has returned. She is a senior housecat (though she likes to go out in the day), very clean, likes to sleep on the bed and loves her food – she will let you know when she’s hungry!

Penny has a medical condition which requires daily treatment but she will repay her new owner with so much affection. A real sweetie!

Holly and Hedgehog

Meet Holly (ginger) and Hedgehog (tortoiseshell), they are semi-longhaired speyed female cats that have been with us since August 2007, after their owners moved abroad abandoning them to fend for themselves. Holly and Hedgehog are very timid cats that spend most of their time hiding where they feel most secure.

bcdh_hegehog.jpg

When approached they may sometimes hiss out of fear due to lack of socialisation in the critical early years of their development. As a result of their timidity, they have been overlooked but with plenty of time, patience and understanding, any new owner will gain their trust, encourage sociability and provide the stable loving home where they can increase their confidence and truly feel at ease.

bcdh_holly.jpg

Holly and Hedgehog are litter trained but are stressed in the cattery environment and would benefit from an experienced cat owner who is used to timid cats and within a quiet household where any children are aged 16+. They are seeking a new loving home together, and are quite over-weight so have been but on a diet to regain their figures.

As semi-longhaired cats they will need regular grooming, Holly doesn’t seem to object as much as her feline friend Hedgehog, but perseverance is required. Can you offer pretty Holly and Hedgehog a new and loving home where they can feel at ease together?

Speedy and Willow

Speedy (ginger and white) and Willow (a pretty tortoiseshell who wouldn’t hang around for the camera) are sisters and aged almost 2 years old. They are to be rehomed by Cats in Crisis from their existing home. They are friendly but somewhat nervous. A quiet home with garden would be ideal please.

Spicy

Spicy is a tortoiseshell female aged less than 1 year old. This delightful little lass was brought to a Cats in Crisis foster mum. It was said she was uncontrollable and ripping the net curtains.  However, once she was away from the 5 noisy children and her flea infestation had been dealt with, she very quickly became gentle and well behaved. A new home with QUIET children would be preferable!

Ruby and kittens

Ruby is a ginger female who was seen, heavily pregnant, trying to get into a derelict garage where she was obviously looking for somewhere under cover to have her kittens. Cats in Crisis was contacted but the only place available for her was a foster mum’s bathroom.

cic_ruby_and_babies.jpg

She has now had 5 beautiful kittens but sadly they have developed quite a serious eye infection. It is hoped that with medication and careful nursing, they will recover. They won’t be old enough for rehoming until end September and everything depends on whether their treatment is successful.

Angel

Angel is a tortoiseshell with white legs and chest, female. She was taken to a vet, having been found on the streets. Despite having an address and phone number on her collar, no owner was traced and the house was empty.

cic_angel.jpg

She was never claimed and is now in the care of Cats in Crisis. She is very affectionate and gentle and would make a perfect friend for an older person.
