Cheeky and Tufty - 10 year old female Domestic Short-Haired Tabby Cats

Hi, I’m Cheeky and this is my sister, Tufty. We’re both feeling a little sad right now, since our owner recently died and we were brought to the Mayhew to help find us a new home. We’re just glad we still have each other. At 10 years old, we like to spend most of our time relaxing and sleeping. We’re a friendly pair and we love the company of humans.

(Cheeky pictured left - Tufty pictured right)

My sister is really sweet, but she’s very nervous. When she meets someone new she shies away and meows with a trembling little voice – even if she knows I’m around to protect her! It takes her no time at all to come round, though, when coaxed with a gentle stroke under the chin.

I, on the other hand, will happily let you approach and offer up some loving, and if I’m really enjoying it I’ll even venture out of my bed to show you plenty of love back! Since being at the Mayhew I’ve been given special food, which helps my liver, and we’ve both been to the dentist, which we didn’t like at all!

We’re simple and gentle felines who love nothing more than to cosy up in a warm spot and while away the hours. We’d make a very calming and warm addition to a quiet and peaceful household. We’re used to having a garden, but don’t use it often so a small outdoor space would be fine for us.

Please telephone 020 8968 2350, fax 020 8964 3221 or e-Mail lucye@mayhewanimalhome.org.uk for further details. Cathy

Cathy is 12 years old, long-haired black female. Has always lived with Tommy. Cathy is more confident than Tommy, she enjoys a fuss and regular grooming. She would be ideally suited to a quiet home with no other pets and children aged 5 or above. She would also love to be rehomed with Tommy (also feautured on FelineOnline.com).

Tommy

Tommy is 11 years old male and neutered and has always lived with Cathy. He is the more timid of the pair. He would require regular grooming and a quiet home who has time to help him settle and build his confidence. He can use a litter tray and would like access inside and out.

Ideally he would like to be homed with Cathy (also featured on FelineOnline.com), but not any other cats or dogs. He would be suitable to be homed with children 5 years upwards.

Fred and Victoria

Introducing the beautiful Victoria (tortoiseshell and white) and her handsome friend, Fred (black and white) both aged 10 months old. These two feral cats were trapped in November, along with six other members of the colony. I have spent some time socialising them, but they need to be in their own home for this process to be complete.

hippykitty_fredandvic.JPG

Victoria has become very affectionate, though she is wary of strangers. Fred is developing a wonderfully big personality, but he is still a little skittish. There is a strong bond between these two, even though Fred sometimes appears to dominate his friend, he is actually being playful. She takes no notice of him.

They sometimes have great playfights. With time and patience they will both become wonderful pet cats, but not immediately. It may take several months for them to trust their new humans. They are not yet easy to handle and this should be avoided unless necessary (vets, etc).

I can be contacted by phone or email for any advice concerning settling them. They have been neutered/spayed, dewormed, and deflead but not vaccinated. Their new owner will need to vaccinate them. All the other members of the colony who were tested for Felv/FIV were negative.

Tinker and Rascal

Tinker and Rascal are two 14 year old tabby cats (male and female) who are in their golden years, and they are looking for a new home where they can continue to do what they have always done: play in the garden, eat nice things, sit on their people’s laps and snuggle up with each other for as many cat naps as they can manage.

battersea_tinkerandrascal.JPG

They settled in at Battersea straight away and we would expect them to fit in again just as quickly in their new home. They have both had a visit to the dentist and come out minus a few teeth, but the remaining ones are pearly white and their breath smells lovely!

Tinker and Rascal will enhance your life without disrupting it; they will fit in with your lifestyle and will be a pair of welcoming furry faces at the door when you come home from work. If you can offer Tinker and Rascal a loving retirement home, please contact us today.

They are both ready for rehoming and are looking for new owners with Bengal or Oriental breed experience only. They are looking for a new home in a rural environemnt- with a very low cat population and a household with no dogs. They can live with older, experienced teenagers.

They are ideally looking for a room for them to settle into, with chill out places away from each other, if they need them and access to their own private garden.

Egg and Nellie

Egg and Nellie are two black and white 2 year old siblings who were brought to Battersea as their elderly owner went in to hospital leaving the cats with nobody to care for them, we do not have much history on them as a friend brought the cats in to us.

battersea_eggandnelly.jpg

Sadly Egg and Nellie are nervous and under-socialised, they are finding cattery life very frightening and confusing taking time to settle and trust people. Slowly with patience they are both coming out of their shells and proving to be sweet cats.

Ideally we are looking for experienced rescue cat owners or people that have owned nervous cats before so will understand exactly what they are going home with. Unfortunately Egg and Nellie cannot live with children or other pets, they need a quiet environment where they will receive the time and attention they need.

Egg and Nellie are used to having access to a garden but due to their nervous natures they did not stay outside for long. It is advisable that they stay indoors longer than your average new cat to allow them plenty of time to settle and bond before going outdoors, new owners must be prepared for this.

If you are looking for a rewarding challenge then this beautiful duo could be for you, to find out more please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443, apply online or email bow.rehomers@dogshome.org.
