Penny is a 22 week old semi-feral female Black Domestic Short-Haired Cat. Fully vaccinated and neutered. When we first started fostering Penny it became clear that she had not ever been around humans before and over the past 6 weeks we have been making progress in socialising her and establishing trust. She has made huge progress, but still needs to keep working on trust as she is still extremely anxious and timid.

Penny loves playtime now and her fishing toy and little balls are her favorite. Also, her new trick is pouncing on toes when they are under covers or showing us how fast she can run around the house. So it is clear she is becoming comfortable around humans and she is slowly becoming our little shadow following us around the house, especially round meal times. However, we still have not been able to stroke her without her hissing or running away.

Penny is looking for a quiet home with someone who will have the patience and time to create trust and a routine for her, somewhere she is free to explore and keep growing in confidence. It would be nice if there was another young or sociable cat around someone she could learn off as she is still really impressionable.

Penny is showing all the signs she will be a very sociable loving cat she just needs time to build trust and confidence.
