Tess – 12 year old female Tortoiseshell Domestic short-Haired Cat

RSPCA Maidenhead and East Berkshire Branch March 31, 2009

Tess is a 12 year old Tortoiseshell girl who is presently enjoying a break from the kennels with one of our volunteers who reports that Tess is a very friendly, affectionate cat and sometimes likes to play like a kitten, belying her 12 or so years!

GREAT NEWS! This Cat Has Now Been Rehomed
Thanks to good people like yourself who use Cat Adoption UK on a daily basis, this cat has now found a new, permanent loving home. There are more cats still looking though…

Video of Tess having a lovely stroke

She enjoys chasing balls and playing with dangling objects. She likes being stroked in most places (except paws and stomach, which is quite usual for cats). She loves to curl up on your lap at night and (if you are not too fidgety a person) will stay there for the duration if she can get away with it. She will try to sit on your lap regardless of what you are busy doing, but tolerates some movement (eg: reaching over her to type on the laptop keyboard). In the morning and after work she greets you with friendly meows and chirrups, but can get under your feet, so this is something to watch out for. I haven’t managed to train her out of this yet! She is good with other people, but we do not know what she is like with other animals or children. Sudden movements and noises occasionally scare her, but she is much less nervy than she used to be. She will tolerate cat biscuits, but prefers fish.
