Zeus is a 4 month old male Black Domestic Short-Haired Cat. Zeus is finally ready for his forever home after quite the journey. He came into the RSPCA’s care after being found with a severely broken rear leg. After having a metal pin placed in his leg and a long stay on cage rest his leg has healed and he has been enjoying catching up on all the kittening he has missed out on previously. Zeus is a confident, playful, cheeky kitten who loves having a play with any toys he can get his paws on. He is around 4 months old. He also enjoys playing with the resident cats in his foster home as well as stealing their food when they’ve had enough.
Due to the nature his injury unfortunately his rear leg will not be covered by any pet insurance in the future, it is important for any potential adopter to be aware of this as any complications in the future will be at the expense of the adopter. His leg bone has formed around the metal pin and whilst it hasn’t caused him any issues now it may well need to be removed in the future. Other potential issues could include arthritis and should he struggle with the leg in later life then amputation is a possibility. Regular check-ups at the vets would be recommended for Zeus to make sure any potential issues are caught in good time.
Zeus’s rear right leg is currently a bit shorter than his rear left leg, which again isn’t causing him any mobility difficulties at the moment but this may affect him more when he is fully grown. Until then he would be more than suitable to go outdoors when he is old enough and to be rehomed with other cats. Zeus would not be suitable to be rehomed to a home with children under the age of 10.
